How does Gdq make money?
Games Done Quick is a charity fundraising organisation that has raised money for charity via speedrunning over the last ten years. Events are streamed live online, non-stop, and all donations go directly to the charity.
How do I volunteer for Gdq?
When volunteer applications are open, you can apply via the link available at gamesdonequick.com/profile. Volunteer applications typically are open at the same time as game submissions, and selections are typically announced at the same time as the games list (ie. before registration to the event opens).
Who reads donations at Gdq?
At select times during the run, the host, seated off camera, will read out donations messages as they are received. Typically 2,000—3,000 donations messages will be read throughout each GDQ event.

Summer Games Done Quick 2021 will take place completely online this year, because of the ongoing COVID pandemic. Speedrunners will stream the event from the comfort of their homes to viewers on Twitch and YouTube.
Can you swear at Gdq?
Swearing should be avoided while on stream. An occasional swear is not going to draw any ire from staff, but we expect runners and commentators to keep the content of the run “PG” in nature as Games Done Quick is a family friendly event both in person and on stream.
