Karavan started in Hartford, Wisconsin on June 23rd, 1986, by brothers Mike and Scott Boyd. By 1994, Karavan had outgrown its Hartford facility. The Boyds planned and constructed a new factory and offices in Fox Lake, Wisconsin and moved to its new state-of-the-art facility in January 1995.
